to the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 to the IPCC

Contributing to the work, as lead author and reviewer, of the IPCC that was acknowledged by the Gulbekian Prize for Humanity
awarded in 2022 ex aequo to the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services and to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for outstanding action in ?ghting against the ecological and climate crisis on the basis that scienti?c evidence is of the utmost importance for accelerating climate action.

State order Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary, awarded at 19. August 2012 for "acknowledging his work conducted in the national forestry research"

This recognition was partly due to my participation in developing methodologies for the national  greenhouse gas inventory, projections, and policy and mitigation policy development in the forestry sector (see my publication list)

"Láng István" prize, awarded 22 April 2021, i.e. Earth Day, for "acknowledging his outstanding and successful work in the last ten years in the field of mitigation and the promotion of the use of renewable energy sources"

"Darányi Ignác" prize, awarded 20 August 2022, i.e. National Memorial Day of Saint Stephan, founding father of Hungary, for "acknowledging his work in the development of the methodology for the national greenhouse gas inventory for the land use, land use change and forestry sector"

I represented my country in the “Gabcikovo-Nagymaros” case in front of the International Court of Justice, The Hague (1995-1997)

I represented my country, as well as the European Community as an expert in the United Nations climate change negotiations at a number of COP conferences and various SBSTA meetings.

I did peer reviews for the following international journals: Forest Ecology and Management; Forestry; European Journal of Forest Research; Trees - Structure and Function etc.

I participated at a hearing at the Environment Commission of the Hungarian Parliament (14 November, 2008).

I chaired the LULUCF Expert Group of the European Union during the semester of the Hungarian Presidency in the first half of 2011.

I prepared, or contributed to the preparation of, various reports of Hungary and the European Union on LULUCF issues under the UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol since 1995.
